ACT NOW ! NHS decided herbal & homeopathic medicines should no longer be prescribed in primary care

ACT NOW!

Stop the NHS from restricting access to herbal and homeopathic medicines

Did you know that on 30 November, NHS England decided (without consultation), that herbal and homeopathic medicines should no longer be prescribed in primary care? Are you happy about this? What next? Who will they go for next time? Have you signed this petition? This is so important, please take notice, here is the reason why: we’re specifically using a parliamentary petition because if we reach the 100,000 signature mark it is highly likely that a debate will take place in the House of Commons. There are a number of MPs who are sympathetic to homeopathy and CAM, so the debate has a reasonable chance of being balanced, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, the debate will be videoed, and recorded word for word by Hansard, so it will make it far harder for the GTS-manipulated media to continue to perpetrate fake news and alternative facts! I am really concerned that we’re becoming complacent, or we don’t understand the seriousness of this situation. Please ask other CAM groups to sign/share too.
We need that petition to clock up the numbers, so please can we all make the effort, it only takes a couple of minutes. Here’s the all important link –

Introducing THE DIRECTORY – Connecting patients and practitioners!

THE DIRECTORY – Connecting patients and practitioners!

announcement-ad

Introducing the CLEVER H. Directory – A novelty that is increasingly being called for, and that will become a permanent feature on the front-page of CLEVER H..

The receipt of an increasing number of contacts from patients seeking a recommendation for a homeopathic practitioner, has led to the creation of this new database. On its pages from the selection of a continent, country, specialty and even related holistic / CAM therapy, patients can search for a practitioner matching their own particular needs.

Yet there are also entries for the active practitioner. There are entries of courses available for practitioners, contacts of coaches for mentoring programs, pharmacies stocking homeopathic remedies, and practitioners offering supervision.

The currently featured rubrics on the Directory are by no means the only ones to be available. Rubrics and entries will grow as we go along. If you practice in a certain field and would like to see this represented on the directory, please do not hesitate to point your specialty out to me.

In the directory, entries can contain the following information:

The entry will be placed under the heading showcasing Flag & Name of country.

Country:

Name: (+Profile-pic)

Specialty: (Niche?)

Location: (Address)

Service: (Home-visits, Skype etc.?)

However, there is a small catch. If you have previously authored an article for CLEVER H., your entry on the Directory is FREE; for the time from January 2017 to the 1st of July 2017However, to maintain your entry beyond July 2017, until January 2018, you are asked to submit one article of 1000 to 2000 words during 2017.

New authors, starting January 2017, will be asked to submit 2 articles per year to become registered for all the year. Therefore 1 article ‘pays’ for 6 months of registry on the Directory.

An article for CLEVER H., can be a case, a remedy-description, a story, an experience, a book review…you name it. Topics for coming issues can be anything of interest surrounding homeopathy. (Here are some ideas: Women´s Health, Men`s Health, Ear-Nose-Mouth-Throat, See-Sight-View, Strange-rare-peculiar, Digestion-from intake to discharge, Philosophy, Essentials of practice, Building Practice, Integrative Care…).

There will also be the option of becoming registered on the directory, without the requirement of writing an article for CLEVER H.. In this case the registration is subjected to a small fee of 95 Euros per registration for one year! This option will become available soon.

If you have any questions about THE DIRECTORY, or would like to get registered, please get in touch!

Season’s Greetings!

Dear Readers,

In 2016, as in any other year since its’ creation, our homeopathic practice did not fall short of the ever prevailing critique, opposition or skepticism. The past year, like those prior, has seen countries, organizations, and universities alter their laws, statutes, and regulations compromising our practice, learning or teaching of the art of Homeopathy. I feel 2017 will be a year of further change still, and I doubt it will all be of a nature impacting our sick-care favorably. Yet, for myself, I have decided that I would like to close the year with a resolution, or actually a pledge, of positivity of the New Year.

The résumé of the past 12 months of traffic and engagement on the pages of the mag has provided a, by far, more optimistic review of 2016, and a rather positive outlook for the New Year 2017! The ever increasing interest that clearly shows in the rise of our readership, the many shares and likes are much appreciated feedback and encouragement to keep going! I have however some alterations in mind that will be put in place as and when we go through the new year; yet, it´s still too early to spread the word on those here. It is though, not too early to once again express much gratitude to the wonderful authors that have contributed to the pages of CLEVER H., and have shared their experiences and wisdom. I personally found the contributions very interesting and have much enjoyed learning with and from you. Thank you!

Further thanks goes out to you the readers and the homeopathic community in general. It is your passion, enthusiasm, trust and belief in our fine art of treating, in aiding the sick to recovery that fuels the interest and acceptance of homeopathy, and quenches the voices of skeptics and opposers! Thank you!

I intend to make the coming year 2017 one of the finest yet to come. I pledge to support homeopathy as best I can, to raise awareness and spread the word. 2017 will be a strong year for homeopathy! There will be growth on all levels of our healing art, evidence, research, practice, understanding, acknowledgement and acceptance! I will do what I can from my little place in the world!

For the final days of 2016 I wish you all a very merry festive time loaded with much happiness, a time to rejoice and enjoy with your loved ones. For 2017 I wish for us all to have a most prosperous and uplifting, but most of all peaceful and healthy year!

Thank you for having been a part of CLEVER H. – the Mag!

Best of wishes!

Uta

Podcast project: A Homeopaths Podcast

Kelly McCall Callahan CCH, of Maine, USA, has created a multi-faceted podcast for the homeopathic community. Each show explores a theme through interviews with homeopaths from around the world, a creative look at a remedy, and a reading from our historical archives.

Two shows are available at: A Homeopath’s Podcast

New episodes will be released each month!

Episode 1: Origins

Part 1– The Present: I ask every homeopath I interview how they found homeopathy and came to be a homeopath. I’ve selected four of those stories to share with you in this first episode, from Kate Birch CCH, author of Vaccine Free… Robert Field CCH, of the Resonance School of Homeoapthy, Sangita Pedro ND, Maine; and Pat Deacon RS(Hom) of Ontario.

Part 2– The Future: The little (big) remedy of Ignis alcoholis encapsulates beginnings and endings through purity of purpose, the destructive and purification energies of fire. Proving by Nuala Eising of Ireland.

Part 3– The Past: And extraordinary letter correspondence between two medical students just before the turn of the 19th century in America. Tom shares his brush with Homeopathy with his friend, John, and subsequently changes a life…

Episode 2: End of Life

Part 1– The Present: Val Lovelace of Wiscasset, Maine shares her story and the power of homeopathy at the end of life

Part 2– The Future: A new proving of an old remedy inspires me to take some creative license with rubrics, trying to expand my understanding- and yours- of the remedy state.

Part 3– The Past: Not too long ago, a pair of homeopaths from California took a trip to Kent’s final resting place. A beautiful remembrance of a distinct time in history, the creation of a place, and Kent’s final years within it.

Response of Prof. George Vithoulkas to Venkatraman Ramakrishnan – article Hindustan Times 07.01.2016

Dear Editor,

An answer to the statements of Venkatraman Ramakrishnan about Homeopathy
by Prof. George Vithoulkas

(article: Hindustan Times 7 January 2016)

http://www.hindustantimes.com/india/homeopathy-astrology-are-bogus-says-nobel-laureate-venkatraman-ramakrishna/story-oNNzWBnosMFiLnrnmfkdxI.html

It is really amazing that the India-born scientist Venkatraman Ramakrishnan was irresponsible enough to have made such an outrageous statement concerning homeopathy. Perhaps this chemist should be reminded that a large portion of the population of India has primarily and effectively relied, for their health and well-being, upon homeopathy – a ‘new’ scientific form of medicine that has become an important part of their medical care system for the last two centuries.

I am sure the arrogance and pride that such prestigious awards like the Nobel Prize bestows upon some people makes them lose touch with reality – so much so that they believe they can comment on anything. Even Venkatraman Ramakrishnan himself allegedly added: “sometimes scientists propose ideas well outside their area of expertise and make mistakes.” Perhaps this is one of those instances.

It is all too common that receivers of high-ranking honours do not realise that their casual remarks carry additional strength owing to the prestigious award they hold. In this particular case, the prejudiced comments of Venkatraman Ramakrishnan carry an undeserved strength that is far in excess of his personal importance. The consequences of such casual remarks may indirectly prevent thousands of suffering people in India from finding a solution for their ill health.

I have lived in India and I came to love the Indian people – not only for their keen scientific minds but also for their warm hearts and their deep respect for humanity. That is why I am so amazed to read the statements of Venkatraman Ramakrishnan. However, I do not want to be too hard on him.

The deserved answer will not come from me at this moment. Nevertheless, if it is agreeable with Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, we can start a public dialogue based principally on my evidence-based work and writings, whereby I would like him to show me just what is ‘bogus’ in homeopathy.

At this moment I will appeal to all those who have benefited from homeopathy to participate in the polls that the Hindustan Times have instigated. I am sure there is going to be an overwhelming condemnation of his unfortunate ignorance and arrogance.

I am also sure that, if Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is an honest man (which I believe he is), he will soon feel the bitter taste (from the sting of his conscience) of the potential damage his biased remarks have done to the poor suffering peoples of India.

Yours faithfully,

Prof. George Vithoulkas

Season Greetings

X-mas for Mag - joyful holidays

Dear Readers,

As the year comes to a close I am drawn to reflect on the past months, and must sadly find that many have seen unrest, and upheaval, much like in the previous year.

Little has politics achieved to pacify the many localities raging in fights, or tormented by terror. Many of our fellow cohabitants on this planet have not, throughout this year, and will not be able to, during this festive season, find comfort in safe and secure environs.

My hope, for us all, is that we, together, aside of religious, political, financial or other reason, will find the greatness of heart to put aside our differences and prejudices, and will achieve to create a space that is peaceful, livable and amicable!

It is a hope that is hard to fulfill, yet, one that takes so little to achieve. A bit more kindness towards our kin, a tad more ‘warmth of heart’ towards another, and a helpful gesture to one in need, are quantum leaps toward a better world! If we can do just that, here, where we plant our stride, the world as a whole cannot go by, but must eventually succumb to the overall tone that its people sing!

In this spirit, I would like to thank you all for your interest and participation with the development of Clever H. – the Mag!

All the best for joyful holidays, and many heartfelt wishes of happiness, prosperity, and fulfillment in the New Year!
