Stop the NHS from restricting access to herbal and homeopathic medicines
Did you know that on 30 November, NHS England decided (without consultation), that herbal and homeopathic medicines should no longer be prescribed in primary care? Are you happy about this? What next? Who will they go for next time? Have you signed this petition? This is so important, please take notice, here is the reason why: we’re specifically using a parliamentary petition because if we reach the 100,000 signature mark it is highly likely that a debate will take place in the House of Commons. There are a number of MPs who are sympathetic to homeopathy and CAM, so the debate has a reasonable chance of being balanced, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, the debate will be videoed, and recorded word for word by Hansard, so it will make it far harder for the GTS-manipulated media to continue to perpetrate fake news and alternative facts! I am really concerned that we’re becoming complacent, or we don’t understand the seriousness of this situation. Please ask other CAM groups to sign/share too.
We need that petition to clock up the numbers, so please can we all make the effort, it only takes a couple of minutes. Here’s the all important link –
THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT HAS CUT HEALTH INSURANCE REBATES FOR NATURAL THERAPIES –
restricting access to homeopathic products, tissue salts, flower essences and aromatherapy products.

An answer to the statements of Venkatraman Ramakrishnan about Homeopathy
by Prof. George Vithoulkas
(article: Hindustan Times 7 January 2016)
It is really amazing that the India-born scientist Venkatraman Ramakrishnan was irresponsible enough to have made such an outrageous statement concerning homeopathy. Perhaps this chemist should be reminded that a large portion of the population of India has primarily and effectively relied, for their health and well-being, upon homeopathy – a ‘new’ scientific form of medicine that has become an important part of their medical care system for the last two centuries.
I am sure the arrogance and pride that such prestigious awards like the Nobel Prize bestows upon some people makes them lose touch with reality – so much so that they believe they can comment on anything. Even Venkatraman Ramakrishnan himself allegedly added: “sometimes scientists propose ideas well outside their area of expertise and make mistakes.” Perhaps this is one of those instances.
It is all too common that receivers of high-ranking honours do not realise that their casual remarks carry additional strength owing to the prestigious award they hold. In this particular case, the prejudiced comments of Venkatraman Ramakrishnan carry an undeserved strength that is far in excess of his personal importance. The consequences of such casual remarks may indirectly prevent thousands of suffering people in India from finding a solution for their ill health.
I have lived in India and I came to love the Indian people – not only for their keen scientific minds but also for their warm hearts and their deep respect for humanity. That is why I am so amazed to read the statements of Venkatraman Ramakrishnan. However, I do not want to be too hard on him.
The deserved answer will not come from me at this moment. Nevertheless, if it is agreeable with Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, we can start a public dialogue based principally on my evidence-based work and writings, whereby I would like him to show me just what is ‘bogus’ in homeopathy.
At this moment I will appeal to all those who have benefited from homeopathy to participate in the polls that the Hindustan Times have instigated. I am sure there is going to be an overwhelming condemnation of his unfortunate ignorance and arrogance.
I am also sure that, if Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is an honest man (which I believe he is), he will soon feel the bitter taste (from the sting of his conscience) of the potential damage his biased remarks have done to the poor suffering peoples of India.

Hello fellow Homeopaths-
My name is Kelly Callahan, I am a homeopath practicing in midcoast Maine (United States).
I have been kicking around an idea for awhile that I am finally ready to boot out of my head and into action.
I am a big fan of podcasts, and there is a big gaping hole when you put ‘homeopathy’ into the itunes search bar. The skeptics show up. George Vithoulkas made an effort, but it petered out several years ago. Joette Calabrese has a nice podcast aimed at beginners….but not practicing homeopaths.
What I am searching for, and what I want to hear… I need to make it myself.
I would like to create a podcast for the international community of practicing homeopaths and students of homeopathy. The intent is a fun, informative and diverse program that touches on the new, the old, and the present.
The final product is a ways away, but my initial plans are to cover 3 parts:
1- cross referencing new or small remedies, kingdoms, and systems with commonly prescribed remedies and polycrests. For example, if you’re working on a case and nux vomica is looking good, what new or small remedies might you consider and why? Or I might dig into a small, unheard of remedy that caught my attention in an article, and peel back the layers: what are its more common remedy differentials? how does it both fit and *not fit* from a kingdom perspective? what rubrics does it share with other more known remedies and conditions? More than just a remedy differential, I’ll be both touching base with modern methods *and* breaking out of their boundaries.
2. Journals, old cases, and conferences. There is a wealth of information in the old journals and meeting proceeds back in the day. I’ll be combing through them and pulling out tidbits of particular interest that relate to other portions of the program. Think ‘old time radio-show’- some of these articles are perfect dramatic reads!
3. Interviews with homeopaths. This is where YOU come in 🙂 I want to dedicate part of the program to bringing in the voices, thoughts, and experiences of homeopaths from all over. Not just the big names in homeopathy, the teachers and conference presenters. But the student homeopaths, the naturopath-homeopaths, the getting-off-the-ground homeopaths, and the finally-hitting-their-stride homeopaths.
If you are willing to be interviewed for a program, I want to hear from you!
The interview with you will be on a variety of topics- and don’t worry, I’m not asking you to teach anything, just to share your experience and thoughts as a homeopath. In the program, I’ll likely pull together several voices/comments to create an audio-montage on a theme or question. So if your portion is chosen, it will be in with several others. There may be a few select interviews that are included in their entirety, or stand-alone because of the subject matter (say, Homeopaths Without Borders).
I have been practicing for four years, and the tone is where I’m at: learning, exploring, questioning… learning. In some ways, I can feel some experience accumulating. In other ways, I feel like a beginner. Every.Day.
No one is unqualified to be a part of this. If it sparks your interest, let me know. I’d love to talk to you.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from you. Email is best: firstname.lastname@example.org
ps- I know we are all busy, and I aim to keep these interviews thorough, but efficient. I’ll take interviews as short as 30 min., but no longer than one-hour. Once you respond with a ‘ME! I’m in!’ I’ll send you a confirmation email with how to move forward with scheduling.
pps- I’d love to get a first episode up by the end of the year- be a part of the inaugural episode!!
